The Diploma in Ayurvedic Postnatal Care (DAPC) is a one-year regular programme offered by the State Resource Centre, Kerala, aimed at providing structured training in traditional Ayurvedic postnatal care practices known as Sutika Paricharya. The programme focuses on the holistic care of mothers and newborns during the postnatal period, integrating classical Ayurvedic principles with relevant modern health perspectives.

The curriculum covers Ayurvedic fundamentals, postnatal and neonatal care practices, dietetics, emotional and mental support, and basic Panchakarma concepts relevant to postpartum recovery. Emphasis is given to supervised clinical practice and internship in Ayurveda hospitals and wellness centres, enabling learners to gain hands-on experience in mother-and-baby care.

This programme prepares learners to support Ayurvedic physicians, work in maternity care settings, wellness centres, and community health initiatives, and contribute meaningfully to maternal and neonatal health through safe, ethical, and culturally rooted Ayurvedic practices.
