The Certificate in Life Skills Education is a six-month programme offered by SRC Community College that aims to help learners understand and develop the essential skills required for effective living. Life skills refer to the abilities that enable individuals to manage daily tasks efficiently, build healthy relationships, make responsible decisions, and adapt positively to challenges in personal, social, and professional life.

The programme focuses on identifying, practising, and strengthening various life skills that help individuals perform everyday activities more confidently and effectively. Just as we often rely on the guidance of others to complete tasks, life skills act as an “inner guide” that supports and empowers us from within.

This course comprises four modules designed to introduce learners to the meaning, scope, and importance of life skills. It also explains how the effective use of these skills contributes to personal growth and positive social behaviour. The curriculum categorizes life skills into five broad areas:

  1. Mother Skills

  2. Survival Skills

  3. Thinking Skills

  4. Negotiating Skills

  5. Coping Skills

Through a combination of conceptual understanding and practical learning, the Certificate in Life Skills Education enables learners to enhance their self-awareness, emotional balance, communication ability, and interpersonal effectiveness—all of which are vital for success in life and work.
