CERTIFICATE IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Certificate in Community Development is an Open Distance Learning Programme for Community Development Workers (CDWs) such as Preraks (Literacy workers), ASHA Workers, Anganwadi Workers, Kudumbasree Workers, Tribal Promoters and Aspirant Social Workers. The programme titled Certificate in Community Development (CCD) comprises of four courses viz; Social work and Development, Environment Education, Community Health and Hygiene and Project Work. Six self learning printed modules and two handbooks were developed with the support of Commonwealth of Learning (COL). COL is an inter-governmental agency instituted by the Commonwealth Countries for Open Distance and Flexible Learning. The self learning printed modules are available in both English and Malayalam language. The English version of the material is meant for the international community and the trans-created version of the same in Malayalam is being used for the capacity and capability development of Community Development Workers
