DIPLOMA IN MANAGEMENT OF SPECIFIC LEARNING DISORDERS

Diploma in Management of Specific  Learning Disorders is a one-year Open Distance Flexible Learning programme designed and developed by State Resource Centre, Kerala for those who seek an opportunity to help children with disorders in learning. The theoretical and practical knowledge of learning disorders has been important in this programme. Now- a-days parents and school authorities are well aware of the problems of the learning backwardness of children suffering from various ‘Specific Learning Disorders’ (SLD). This problem needs to be addressed at an early stage to help such students to succeed in their academics and future life. However, trained experts or training centers on LD are very rare. To assess, diagnose, and provide suitable remedial support to children with SLD, the service of trained Learning Disorder experts and professionals is necessary. This situation made SRC think about starting a Diploma course on Learning Disorders in distance mode, so that working teachers, prospective teachers, aspirant teachers, and unemployed educated persons can participate in this course. This course is more relevant in the context that CBSE schools are looking for experts to support children with SLD and Special Education Needs (SEN).

The Diploma in Management of  Specific Learning Disorders is designed to train learners to acquire practical knowledge and experience in the field of learning disability. The learner will be empowered to carry out teaching skills very effectively based on the requirements of each differently abled child.
